1. Who we are
AssetFort is provided by Fort Energy Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, of 40 Middlegate, Morpeth, Northumberland, NE61 2DD.
- Company registration number: 14228845
- VAT registration number: GB 422524918
- RECC registration: 00078143
- MCS registration: 68788
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Fort Energy Limited. "You" and "your" mean the person or business entering into a contract with us for AssetFort membership or a Renewable Energy Safety Inspection.
2. Definitions
- "AssetFort" or "Membership" means the ongoing technical support service described on this site and in our "What's Included" page, provided on a recurring monthly subscription basis.
- "Inspection" means the Renewable Energy Safety Inspection (a limited-scope Electrical Installation Condition Report) described on this site.
- "System" means your solar PV, battery storage, inverter, EV charging, or related renewable energy installation.
- "Order" means a purchase of the Inspection and/or Membership made through our website or Stripe checkout.
3. The service
AssetFort Membership provides ongoing remote technical support for your System, as set out in full on our "What's Included" page, which forms part of these terms. The specific features included do not vary by tier — only the price varies, based on the size of your System.
The Inspection is a one-off assessment of your System against current safety and engineering standards. It results in a written report, a health score, engineering recommendations, and — if your System passes — a safety certificate.
Neither the Membership nor the Inspection includes replacement hardware, site visits, electrical repairs, or labour to fit replacement parts. Any such work is always quoted separately in writing before it begins.
4. Eligibility & inspection requirement
If your System was not originally installed by Fort Energy, you must complete the Inspection before your Membership is treated as fully active. This is because we cannot verify the safety or condition of a System we did not install without first inspecting it ourselves.
If the Inspection identifies remedial work that must be completed before your System meets AssetFort standard, your Membership is paused rather than cancelled — see Section 7.
5. Pricing & payment
Current pricing is published on our pricing and booking pages and forms part of these terms at the time of your Order. As of the date at the top of this page:
- The Inspection is priced at £250, inclusive of VAT, as a launch offer (our standard rate is £450, inclusive of VAT).
- Membership is billed monthly in advance, at £12.50 (Essential), £20.83 (Protect), or £33.33 (Commercial), depending on your System size.
Payment is collected securely through Stripe at the point of Order. Where you Order an Inspection and Membership together, both are charged in the same transaction. We do not store your card details ourselves — this is handled entirely by Stripe.
We may change our prices from time to time. Any change will apply to future billing periods only, and we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a Membership price increase takes effect.
6. Your right to cancel
Membership: you may cancel your Membership at any time. There is no minimum term or lock-in contract. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period, and we do not provide partial refunds for the remainder of a billing period already paid for.
Statutory cancellation right (distance selling): because you purchase through our website, UK consumer law (the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) gives you a 14-day right to cancel most orders without giving a reason. Where we begin providing a service — including carrying out an Inspection — within that 14-day period at your request, and the service is fully performed within that time, your right to cancel that specific service ends once it has been completed. Where a service is only partially performed within the 14 days before you cancel, we may deduct a reasonable amount for the value of what has already been provided.
To cancel, contact us at hello@assetfort.co.uk.
7. Pausing your membership
If your Inspection identifies remedial work required before your System meets AssetFort standard, we will pause your Membership from the date of the Inspection. No further Membership payments are taken while your Membership is paused. We will provide a clear, itemised quotation for any remedial work required. Once that work is complete and your System meets AssetFort standard, your Membership resumes automatically and billing continues as normal.
8. What's not included
The following are never included in Membership or the Inspection fee, regardless of tier, and are always quoted separately in writing before any work begins:
- Replacement hardware and consumable items
- Site visits and electrical repairs
- Labour to replace failed components
- Manufacturer charges where warranties have expired
- Third-party equipment not supplied by Fort Energy
- Additional System upgrades or expansions
A full breakdown is available on our What's Included page, which forms part of these terms.
9. Liability
We provide Membership and Inspection services with reasonable care and skill, in line with applicable UK consumer protection law. Except as set out below, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these terms — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — is limited to the total fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded under English law.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit or loss of energy savings, except where such losses are a foreseeable result of our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
10. Data protection
We collect and process personal data (including your name, contact details, System information, and payment records via Stripe) in order to provide Membership and Inspection services, in accordance with UK data protection law. Full details of how we collect, use, and protect your data are set out in our Privacy Notice.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our services, pricing, or the law. We will notify active Members of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use AssetFort after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
12. Complaints
If something's gone wrong, please contact us first at hello@assetfort.co.uk so we can put it right. We aim to respond within 1 working day.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
